Privacy Policy

How this website handles information from your visit and your communications with DTC.

Effective

About This Policy

Detroit Transportation Corporation (DTC) operates this agency website at dtc-web.netlify.app. This policy explains information handled when you visit these pages or contact DTC using the contact information provided here. It does not replace the policies of the People Mover rider website, the online shop, or other linked services.

You can read this website without creating an account. This site does not host checkout, job applications, newsletter signup, or online submission forms.

Information From Your Visit

Our hosting provider, Netlify, processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This may include your IP address, requested pages or files, browser and device information, referring website, request time, and response status. Hosting and security logs may be used to maintain service, investigate errors, and prevent misuse.

These pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to request those files, which exposes your IP address and request information to Google. See Google’s explanation of font privacy and Netlify’s privacy information for more about those providers. Provider processing may take place in the United States or other countries.

Cookies & Tracking

DTC’s website code does not set advertising cookies, use tracking pixels, or include third-party analytics scripts. DTC does not use this website to sell personal information or serve targeted advertising. Where site access is password-protected, the hosting service may use a necessary cookie to remember authorized access.

You can manage or remove cookies through your browser settings. Blocking a necessary access cookie may require you to enter the site password again. Outside services reached through links have their own cookie and privacy practices.

Information You Choose To Provide

If you email, call, or write to DTC, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, contact details, message, and attachments. We use it to respond, route your inquiry, provide requested assistance, and maintain agency records. It may be shared with the DTC personnel or service providers who help handle that request, or disclosed as required by law or legal process.

A downloadable form is not submitted simply by opening or completing it. Follow the submission instructions on the relevant page. Please provide only the information needed for your request; do not send passwords or payment-card details by email.

Retention & Public Records

DTC communications and records are subject to applicable records-retention requirements and legal holds. Retention depends on the type of record and the purpose for which it is kept; a privacy request does not override a legal requirement to retain a record.

Information sent to DTC may become a public record subject to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act. Disclosure depends on the law and applicable exemptions, including privacy protections. This policy does not promise that every communication will remain confidential. See DTC’s FOIA procedures for the public-records request process.

Linked Services

Links to the People Mover website, merchandise shop, Paycor, BidNet, maps, social media, and meeting services take you to separate websites. Their notices govern information submitted there. Review the destination’s privacy policy before providing information or making a purchase.

Your Questions & Requests

You may contact DTC to ask about information you have provided or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable law permits. Describe your request without sending unnecessary sensitive information. DTC may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing personal information. Legal retention and disclosure obligations may limit what can be deleted or withheld.

This general-information website does not offer children’s accounts or activities that request personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to DTC through a website contact, please contact us so it can be reviewed under applicable requirements.

Security & Policy Updates

This website uses HTTPS and browser security controls to help protect access. No website or email transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. If a request involves sensitive information, call DTC to ask about the appropriate submission method.

DTC may update this policy when the website or its information practices change. Revisions will be posted here with an updated effective date, with additional notice when required by law.
